Our concert audiences are showing a healthy year on year growth and credit for this goes in the main to Graham Merriam for finding top class artists and providing informative newsletters.
Moving our concerts to Sunday afternoons in the winter months also seems to be paying off.
However it is our members who really sell our concerts. Reminding friends what is coming up and persuading the slightly less enthusiastic to attend and be delighted by what they see and hear.
Oswald’s Restaurant adds a welcome additional dimension to the concert experience with an Early Bird meal on Saturday evenings or lunch on a Sunday. Phone them on 01845 523655 for details or to make a booking.
Our ‘Music For Life’ programme with schools goes from strength to strength and due to our Patrons and other friends is fully funded. The only down side is that Graham’s Calling All Kids concerts on Saturday afternoons are not pulling in the youngsters as hoped and these will end in May.
Something to look forward to in the next few years are performances by the Elias Quartet of all sixteen of Beethoven’s String Quartets. An exciting undertaking being shared between ourselves, Teesside Music Society and the Ryedale Festival (ie a third each) and masterminded by Graham.
So much to look forward to and my thanks to everyone who plays their part in making it all happen.
